From Corporate IT to Helping Your Small Business
Back in the late 1990s, I was working in the IT department of a major food service distributor. My role started out as computer tech support — helping both in-house staff and customer locations keep things running smoothly.
About a year in, I was handed a new challenge: set up a web server and design a website for the Atlanta, Georgia branch. After a lot of research and more than a few late nights configuring the server, I dove into designing the site. I’ll be completely honest — that first website was a painstaking process. But I loved every minute of it. Even after the site was up and running, I kept finding ways to improve it, constantly updating and upgrading both the website and the server.
That whole experience made something clear: I genuinely enjoyed designing websites, and I was good at it. I soon started taking on smaller, non-corporate projects for local small businesses — and discovered something just as rewarding as the work itself. I loved helping small businesses compete online with the bigger players in their industry.
Going Out on My Own
I spent 15 years total at that corporate IT job before making the leap to go out on my own. My focus since then has been exactly what I’d grown passionate about — helping small businesses in the Dallas, Hiram, Powder Springs, and Paulding County area build a strong online presence, full time.
Some of my current clients are the same ones I built websites for in my very first years working independently. That means a lot to me. I believe in building long-term business relationships, because when I really know a client and their goals, I can make sure their website — and their entire online presence — represents them in the very best way possible.
When a small business owner in Dallas or Hiram calls me, I pick up. When they have a question about their website, I give them a straight answer. I don’t hide behind a help desk or send form emails.
I build websites the way I’d want one built for myself: clean design, well-written pages, fast load times, and a solid foundation in local SEO so your customers in Powder Springs and the surrounding area can actually find you on Google.
And when the site is done, I’m not gone. I’m still here when you need updates, have questions, or are ready to grow.
